Neeta Inamdar is an education enthusiast with focus on research particularly in international education. Having written extensively in the field of internationalization of higher education, she has also had hands on experience in developing international collaboration for her university and offering many opportunities of learning and teaching to many of her colleagues and students. She started the Manipal Centre for European Studies, the first of its kind in the country in 2009 with a funding from the European Union which was awarded the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in 2018. In recognition of her contribution to European Studies in India, she was also awarded the coveted Jean Monnet Chair. As an academic entrepreneur, she started many new centres and programs and led many projects providing opportunities for younger academics. Along with her academic pursuits, she also ventured into the world of publishing with the establishment of Manipal Universal Press (MUP), making it the one of its kind academic publishing house in India. MUP has now emerged as a major publisher within the country with more than 200 titles to its credit under her leadership. Recently, she is invested deeply in developing a newly established Centre for Education Research. She has co-edited two books and has been guiding several PhD students. She also writes regularly to newspapers and magazines on education related issues.
